We know you're eager to start labeling your data so we made this quick start guide that covers the basics! For more in-depth feature guides explore the topics on the left, or use the search bar above.

1. Create your account and log in

  1. If it's your first time logging into Sense, sign into your account at sense.sixgill.com or create a new one by selecting "Sign up".

  2. Fill out the form to create your account. Be sure to enter any promo codes if you have any. Verify your email address by clicking on the link in the confirmation email. This will log you in automatically.

2. Create A Dataset & Add Sources

In the main nav, you will be taken to the Data Labeler tab. This is where the labeler features can be found.

From here you can create a dataset, or add other users in the User Management settings.

  • Click "Create New" to add a new dataset

  • Give the dataset a name

  • Click "Save & Continue to Sources"

  • Click which type of data source to add and fill in the setup details. Repeat for each source.

  • When you are finished, click "Back" to go back to Sources

  • Click "Save & Continue" at the bottom right

3. Create Label Definitions

Define the types of labels you will use in your project

  • Click "Add Label"

  • Type label name in "Name" field

  • Select label type from "Type" dropdown

  • Select label color from color chooser

  • Click "Save" button

  • Repeat as needed for multiple labels

  • When you're finished, click "Start Labeling" at the bottom right

4. Label Images

  • Select desired label from panel

  • Apply Label to Image (Application will vary by label type)

  • Click "Submit" button

  • Repeat for each image

5. Review & Export Labels

  • Click the "Review" tab

  • Click "Export Dataset"

  • Select desired format for export

  • Select or de-select desired label types to export

  • Click "Export Now"

You will be notified by email when your export is ready. Your labeled data will be available in a zip file for download.

Your data is now ready to use in your own project!
